What is fast fashion?
Fast fashion is trendy clothing that has been massed produced to fit the up and coming trends of the fashion industry. Companies will sample styles from the runway or luxury brands and cheaply manufacture them to sell to the public at an affordable price. However, the fashion industry moves at a fast pace, and trend cycles are extremely short lived, so by the time these fast fashion brands have a certain style produced, a new trend arises. Recently, this cycle has been perpetuated by social media with things like targeted advertisements and microtrends, in which an item gains and loses immense popularity within a very short amount of time. Fast fashion is very appealing, as it allows you to participate in trends without having to break the bank.
